It was morning, which meant that Cade's totally keen alarm clock went off at precisely 7:30AM. He woke up, stretched in a bizarrely photogenic way and then got out of bed: the better to show off his shades-of-gray striped pajamas that set off his shades-of-gray self.

He made his bed neatly (even greasers can have nice manners!) and then glanced into the mirror with a small frown. "My hair is a mess!" he said, then paused for the laugh only he was waiting for.
